SUMMARY:Young Gun Award
DESCRIPTION:The winner of the Women in Insolvency & Restructuring Victoria’s inaugural Young Gun Award 2017 was announced at a cocktail evening at the Grand Hyatt on 17 October 2017.Congratulations to Kathryn Smith of Ashurst Australia.\nAs one judge described Kathryn\, “she has achieved a lot in her four years. I was impressed by her professional achievements but also by her breadth of work in academia\, thought leadership and law reform. She seems highly involved in volunteering and in the industry in both issues that focus on the advancement of women and other social justice matters.”\nThe Award was open to an outstanding woman who has been practicing in the insolvency industry for one to five years (inclusive).  Open for nominations across all areas of insolvency and reconstruction\, the Award was judged by an independent panel from the accounting\, banking and legal industries.\nWe are grateful for the support and work of our judges this year:  His Honour President Chris Maxwell of the Victorian Court of Appeal\, Melanie Scott\, Senior Policy Adviser at Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand\, Tim Bezencon\, Group General Manager\, Lending Services at ANZ and Anna Robertson of the Victorian Bar. \n
