About Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Victoria
Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Victoria (WIRV) (formerly known as IWIRC (VIC)) was formed in February 1996 and since then has grown energetically in stature and momentum, boasting an average of over 300 financial members.
WIRV is a not for profit professional organisation, which through a female executive, connects, empowers and contributes to its members, the insolvency industry and the wider community.
WIRV’s mission is to:
(a) empower women in the insolvency industry;
(b) provide networking opportunities;
(c) provide professional development opportunities;
(d) provide leadership opportunities;
(e) foster lasting professional relationships; and
(f) contribute to the wider community.
WIRV has a diverse membership base, which includes leading lawyers, accountants, bankers, academics and policy makers, and consequently provides excellent networking opportunities for those working in insolvency and related fields. The WIRV Committee of Management is comprised of up to 20 women from the insolvency sector. WIRV is famous for its annual Footy Finals Luncheon, which is held in September each year and attracts over 700 attendees. In addition to this event, WIRV hosts a number of professional development briefings during the year together with a number of other networking, female empowerment and leadership events.
